LITTLE ROCK – A local deputy volunteers his time to serve as a steward to law enforcement functions throughout the State in the Honor Guard.
Howard County Deputy Todd Tallant is a member of the Arkansas Sheriff’s Association Honor Guard – which is an organization made up of deputies from all over Arkansas. “These deputies are tireless in their efforts of bringing a formal sense of unity from law enforcement officers to funerals of deceased officers, law enforcement graduations, and various other events which call upon services of the ASA Honor Guard throughout the year,” according to a statement from the ASA.
It takes a lot of dedication and commitment on both the Sheriff and the deputy to be a part of the Honor Guard. The Sheriffs allow their deputies time to train and serve when called up on, and put forth a tremendous effort in allowing one of their own to represent the Sheriffs of Arkansas. The deputies – at the call of the Sheriff – dedicate themselves to train hard and keep up the tradition of the Honor Guard that represents the Sheriffs of Arkansas.

Tallant has been a Howard County deputy for 13 years and in law enforcement for 19 years. He is the County’s SWAT Team Leader and sniper.
He is also a firearms and Taser instructor for the Howard County Sheriff’s Office.
