Born the daughter of Lex Harris and Louise Daugherty Clingan. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Nashville, Ark. Retired from First National Bank after 28 years. She was a caregiver to her parents and other family. Her family was her joy. She was ‘Nana’ to her grandsons and great-grandchildren. Hobbies were reading, crosswords and writing. She loved traveling around in the state – especially the Ozarks – and camping with her family and friends. She was a cancer survivor and fighter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lex and Louise Clingan, and her brother, James Robert Clingan and his wife Betty Clingan, – and also her “forever friend” Laveta Anderson, who was like a sister to her.
She is survived by: her husband of 63 years, Billy Neal Jones; a son, Bill Tom Jones and wife Debbie of Conway, Ark.; a daughter, Julie Nan Jones of Frisco, Texas. She is survived by two grandsons – Tadd McCullough and spouse Blake Harris of Dallas, Texas, and Stuart Jones of Conway, Ark. There are two great-granddaughters, Macy Rose Jones and Leila K’lee Kim, and a great-grandson, Noah Kai Jones, all of Conway, Ark. She is also survived by her nephew, Paul Clingan and his wife Maria of Los Angeles, Calif., and his son Alex and his Mom, Gina Speaks. She is survived by seven cousins and their families.
Linda was one of 9 grandchildren and the only girl (not in the least spoiled).
“Remember me when you go to the Ozarks – when you view beautiful fall leaves – when you go on a picnic – when you pick spring flowers – when you rock a baby – when you eat chocolate – when you hear or tell a corny joke – when you listen to beautiful music – when you look through family pictures and such, because you will be doing some of my favorite things.
I love each and every one of you.”
The last time Linda was together with her family, she told us, “You are my world.”
She had a good life, filled with love for her family, her church, and her Lord Jesus Christ.
We love you, Mom. We will miss you and remember you always.
