Steven Clarence Savage, 64, of Tulsa, Okla., concluded his courageous battle with brain cancer on June 14, 2026.

He exemplified positivity through his battle and inspired everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Steve was born on Sept. 9, 1961, in Nashville, Ark., to Clarence and Erma Louise Dildy Savage. He resided in Tulsa, Okla., for the past 25 years, having also lived in Fayetteville, Ark., Joplin, Mo., and Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

He was a 1979 graduate of Nashville High School. He received degrees from the University of Arkansas and Missouri Southern State University.

His career in transportation lasted nearly 40 years and he retired as Director of Transportation for MRC Global.

Steve loved golf and all his golfing buddies. He followed his father’s love of aviation and earned his private pilot’s license. He trained to be a marathon runner and he ran his first marathon in 2006. He ran 19 marathons over his lifetime.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Steve is survived by his wife of 39 years, Renee Savage of Tulsa, Okla. He is also survived by his 105 year-old aunt, Ollie Mae Gardner of Texarkana, Ark., and many cousins.

Graveside service will be Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Bluff Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
