Dec. 23, 2024 marked one year since the the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced that hydropower production had been halted at Narrows Dam at Lake Greeson due to issues with the metal structure supporting trash racks on the lake side that prevent large debris from entering and damaging turbans used for creating hydropower. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has yet to announce the scope of the work or schedule for the repairs, which are described as “essential to ensuring the uninterrupted and safe production of hydropower in the future.
