Mrs. Penny Lanell (Stamps) Burgess, age 54, a resident of Dierks, Ark., died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at her home.

She was born Sept. 9, 1970, in De Queen, Ark. She worked for Husqvarna in Nashville and was a Baptist. She enjoyed feeding her birds, riding her side-by-side, and trips to the river. Penny loved animals and spending time with her grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Ray Stamps, Sr., and Rita Inez Schoolfield, and one brother, “Bimbo” Stamps.

Penny is survived by: her husband, Phillip Burgess of Dierks; one son, Eric Todd Renfrow, Jr. of Dierks; two daughters, Skylar Lanell Driver and Alex Driver of Hatfield and Joni Madison Burgess and Brett Cannon of Dierks; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Troy and Brenda Stamps and, Billy and Frankie Stamps all of Dierks and Marvin Ray Stamps, Jr. and Roseann of De Queen; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marylen and Harold Coleman of Dierks, Shidy Stamps of Mt. Ida and  Francis and Ken Lee of Provo; grandchildren, Zaya Renfrow, Zari Renfrow, Lawson Cannon, Dawson Cannon, and Dutton Driver; her step-father, Nick Schoolfield of Provo; a number of nieces, nephews and her dog, Penelope.

Funeral services for Mrs. Penny (Stamps) Burgess will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Larry Fry and Gary Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Dierks Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday,  Nov. 7  at the funeral home in Dierks.
