Rene’ Bennett, a beacon of unwavering love and generosity, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024, at the age of 59, in Nashville, Ark. Born on May 28, 1965, in Jackson, Miss., Rene’ was a spirited soul who brought joy and warmth to everyone she encountered. Rene’ was the cherished wife of Billy Bennett, her devoted partner of over 43 years, with whom she built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unconditional love. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their three children, Christy and her husband Nathan Cornish of Prescott, Ark., Candace and her husband Mark Freeman of Russellville, Ark., and Brandon Bennett of Nashville, Ark.. Rene’s role as a grandmother was one, she embraced every fiber of her being. Her five grandchildren, Jackson Cornish, Rhett Cornish, Hayden Freeman, Aurora Cornish, and Olivia Freeman were the very essence of her life, each moment with them treasured and full of happiness. Rene’ was a beloved sister to her brother, Keith, and his wife Teresa McCloud of Dierks, Ark., and her sister, Shirley Cook of Edwards, Miss. Her parents, Grady McCloud, and Mavis Johnson McCloud preceded her in death. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by her nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and a multitude of friends who became family through the years.
Professionally, Rene’ dedicated 24 years as a payroll and billing clerk at the Howard County Children’s Center. Her commitment to her work was evident in the meticulous care she took in every task, and her colleagues respected her for her integrity and hardworking nature. Rene’ Bennett was a woman of many passions. She found solace in the great outdoors, whether she was fishing, hunting, or tending to her vibrant flower garden. Her artistic spirit shone through her paintings, Rene’s culinary skills were unparalleled, and her cooking brought people together, creating memories around the dining table that will be cherished forever. Those who knew Rene’ understood her unwavering commitment to caring for others. Her love was a guiding force, and her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on through the countless lives she touched.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday night, July 24, 2024, from 6-8 p/m. at Nashville Funeral Home. Her service will follow on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Cross Point Cowboy Church with Bro. Kenny Martin and Bro. Tony Busby officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park Cemetery.
