James ‘Jim’ Eugene McClure, 78, died Oct. 5, 2023 in Dallas, Texas.
He was born Oct. 24, 1944, in Nashville, the son of the late Clell and Eugenia McClure.
He was valedictorian of his 1962 NHS class and was a National Merit Scholar winner. He excelled at Scrapper sports. He earned bachelor and masters degrees in electrical science at the University of Arkansas. He was a computer software engineer for various Dallas companies. He was a member of Prestoncrest Church of Christ
Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Mona McClure; a son, Mark McClure of McKinney, Texas, and a daughter, Kristin Powers of Sachse, Texas; brothers Mike and Don McClure; also grandchildren.
There was a private family service Friday, Oct. 13 with a celebration of life service scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. at Prestoncrest Church of Christ.
