Joel Samuel Wright, Jr., 90, of Glenwood died March 1, 2023.
He was the son of the late Joel and Retter Wright.
He was a US Navy veteran, and was an educator for many years before becoming a home-builder. He was a church ‘planter,’ a deacon and Bible teacher.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers, two sisters, and two sons, Craig Allen Wright, and Barry Gene Wright.
Survivors include: his wife, Billie Jean Warren Wright, children Janet (Charles K “Bud”) Hughes, daughter-in-law Shirley (Barry) Wright, Corby Wright, Neal (Dana) Wright, and Nita (Dave) Windus, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Don.
Visitation was at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Glenwood, on Friday, March 3. A memorial service was at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, at Bethel followed by interment at Old Mt. Tabor cemetery near Glenwood.
