Ernestine (Tina) Matheny went to be with her Lord on Jan. 5, 2023.
Tina was born on Dec. 5, 1938 in Bastrop, La. She gladly followed her husband, Lynn, for more than four decades as he preached the gospel of Christ. The help she gave him during his ministry was immeasurable as she truly exemplified the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Lynn; her parents and one sister.
She is survived by: her four daughters: Tammy (Kevin) Smith, Lisa (John) Wesson, Tracy (David) Lamb, and Lori (Ed) Williams.
Mama Tina is also survived by nine grandchildren: Justin (Chelsea) Smith, Hannah (Aaron) Chancellor, Holly (Andy) White, Jake (Rachel) Wesson, Michael (Ashley) Lamb, Matthew Lamb, Clay (Erica) Williams, Andrew Williams, Abby (Brandon) Honea. She is survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
The strength of Tina’s commitment to her Lord and the church is well known.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, in the Latimer Funeral Chapel in Nashville. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park with Tim Erwin officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
