Wanda Joyce Cogburn, age 73, of Caddo Gap, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016.
She was born on February 16. 1943 in Rule, Texas, the daughter of William David Alexander and Katherine Stroud Alexander Hamner and her step-father, Leroy Hamner. On October 18, 1957, she was married to Leonard McKinley Cogburn, Jr. who preceded her in death on March 22, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents and step-father; and her brother, Jim Hamner.
She was Pentecostal in her faith and a retired truck driver.
She is survived by eight children and their spouses, Charles M. Cogburn, Sr., Randy and Lisa Cogburn, Leon and Lynn Cogburn and Sarah and Tracy Harris, all of Caddo Gap, Betty and Arlin Sykes of Glen Rose, Mary and Buddy McClard of Magnet Cove, David and Ardena Cogburn of Oden and Daniel, Sr. and Angela Cogburn of Amity; 31 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Tom Hamner of Black Springs; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Charles Aimsworth of Malvern; her sis- ter-in-law, Faye Hamner of Caddo Gap; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 19, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Greg Hamner and Bro. James Cogburn officiating.
Interment was in Gaston Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Cogburn, Jr., David Cogburn, Tristan Cogburn, Michael McClard, Jesse Cogburn, Thomas McClard, Madison Sirmon and Wanda Faye.
Honorary pallbearers are all of her grandchildren and the staff of Arkansas Hospice.
