Virginia Parker, age 90, of Glenwood, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016.

She was born on July 31, 1926 in the Mount Tabor community near Glenwood, the daughter of Joe Presley Smith and Mary Loretta Tidwell Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Parker; her son-in-law, Derry Parker; her parents; four brothers; and four sisters.

After 32 years, she retired as a floor supervisor for Shelby Manufacturing. She owned and operated Virginia’s Fine Fabrics where she loved to take care of and visit with all of her customers. She was Missionary Baptist in her belief and, as a wonderful seamstress, she would use her talents to make clothing and garments for the Texarkana Baptist Children’s Home.

She is survived by five children and their spouses, Gail Parker, Joe and Judy Short, Ann and Tony Waites, all of Glenwood, Tracy Parker of Weatherford, Texas and Rosemary and David Blackmon of Glenwood; her step-son and his wife, Richard and Sally Parker of Waxahachie, Texas; 13 grand- children; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great- grandchildren; and her sister, Charlsie Standley of Glenwood.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Bobby Lock and Bro. Jerry Fagan officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Parker, David Waites, Casey Parker, Elliot Blackmon, Ethan Blackmon, Jason Parker, Chase Lybrand and Gibson Lybrand.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchil- dren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grand- children.
