MALVERN – The Nashville Scrapperettes end the 2015-16 basketball season with a 59-39 first round loss at the hands of the ESTEM Mets in the 4A State Tournament.
The Scrapperettes game was the tale of two halves with Nashville shooting 50 percent from the floor and 83 percent from the free throw line in the first half and a paltry 23.5 percent from the floor and 25 percent from the charity stripe in the second half.
ESTEM on the other hand went from 46 percent from the floor and 50 percent from the free throw line in the first half to 57 percent and 63.6 percent in the second half respectively.
The opened with a quick pace with the Mets easing out to a 15-13 lead at the end of the first period. Nashville was able to grab the lead in the second period and eked out a 29-26 lead by the half.
The momentum started to shift in the Mets favor in the third period as they outscored the Scrapperettes 14-6 in the third to take a 40-35 lead. Nashville tried to peck away at the Eagles lead in the fourth, but had to resort to fouls to stop the clock late in the game. ESTEM took advantage of the tactic and ended up outscoring Nashville 19-4 in the final quarter to win the game by 20.
The Scrapperettes end the season with a 20-6 record.
Lilly Kidd was five for nine from the floor, including four three pointers, and scored 14 points to lead the Scrapperettes in scoring. Asia Munn was three for nine from the floor and five for eight from the charity stripe for 11 points. Kendall Kirchoff scored five and KeeKee Richardson scored four. Kaylea Carver and Maddi Horton each scored two and Tamya Draper scored one.
Kaylea Carver had two offensive rebounds and four defensive rebounds to lead Nashville with six. Asia Munn had three offensive and two defensive rebounds for five total. Kendall Kirchoff had four rebounds, Maddi Horton and Madi Miller each had three rebounds. Lilly Kidd had two and KeeKee Richardson had one.
Asia Munn had two steals and Kendall Kirchoff, Lilly Kidd, KeeKee Richardson and Kaliea Munn each had one steal.
Lilly Kidd had two blocked shots and Asia Munn had one.
