A joint effort by several local
and federal offices were involved
in serving an arrest warrant
stemming from an incident in
June 2015.
According to a press release
provided by the Montgomery
County Sheriff’s Office, members
of their office, the 18th West
Judicial Drug Task Force and
the U.S. Forest Service worked
together to execute an arrest warrant
on Marty Waggoner of Black
Springs.
The report states that
Montgomery County Sheriff
David White was notified by the
ATF the Waggoner had a warrant
for possession of unregistered
NFA weapons and possession of
firearms by unlawful drug user.
The warrant was the result
of an incident that allegedly happened
June 28, 2015. The report
states that on that date the MCSO,
18th West Drug Task Force,
the Arkansas Game and Fish
Commission and the U.S. Forest
Service executed a search warrant
on Waggoner’s residence.
Waggoner was stopped February
8 at the Black Springs Store
by MCSO Sgt. Will Brakefield
and Investigator Jeremy Lea at
approximately 7:30 a.m. Sheriff
David White, Investigator Mike
May and U.S. Forest Service LEO
Chris Johnson also assisted with
the stop.
The press release states
that Waggoner was informed of
the warrant and was taken into
custody without incident. He was
taken to the Montgomery County
Jail and was later transferred to
Hot Springs by federal authorities.
The report stated that at the
time of the arrest Waggoner
was out on bond from the state
charges that evolved from the
search warrant executed in June
2015.
Waggoner is presumed
innocent until found guilty in a
court of law.
