Oden earned two victories in their home opener with the senior girls defeating Taylor 46-17 and the senior boys earning a 66-48 victory.
The senior girls jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the first period and increased their lead to 18 at the half with a 17-6 run in the second period. They continued to control the tempo of the game in the third with a 20-9 run. Both teams coasted through the fourth period as Oden cruised to a 29 point win.
Nine Lady Timberwolves scored in the win with Sara Black leading the charge with 10 points. Katie Cox added eight while Eden Singleton scored seven. Hailee Elder and Shawna Van Horn scored five each. Kandy Simmons, Shelbie Kennedy and Zoe Singleton each scored three. Sarah Morrison scored two.
The boys had to battle to earn their win with the first period ending with the Timberwolves up 19-17. They outscored Taylor 12-9 in the second to increase their lead to five. They added three to their lead in the third and put the game away in the fourth with a 22-12 run.
Three Oden players scored in the double digits with Matthew Vincent leading the team with 19. Jeff Lewis scored 18 and Aaron Carmack scored 14. Tyler Fair scored seven and Matthew Thomas scored four.
