lowery, charlesCharles Lowery, 82, of Murfreesboro, died on Sunday, November 1, 2015 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born on May 16, 1933 in Piney, Arkansas, the son of the late Frank Lowery and Bessie (Hill) Lowery. Charles was a self made successful man. He lost his mother at the age of 7 and went to work in the log woods at 13 years old, working and going to school. Charles was a truck driver for many years, then owner of C and N Trucking, Inc. He was a pipeliner for Operators Union 178 until retirement in 2012. He was a mason in Pike Lodge for 50 years and member of the First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. He was loved and admired by friends and all his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Norma Jean Lowery and one son, Jerry Lowery.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Reeves and husband, Scooter of Nashville; three sons, Stevie Lowery and wife, Susan, Chuck Lowery and wife, Debbie, and Ricky Don Lowery and wife, Paula all of Murfreesboro; nine grandchildren, Bryan and Marci Lowery and Elleigh Jean Lowery of Hot Springs, Timmy and Jerri Woodruff of Dierks, Kayla and Mark McCarley of Texarkana, Jarrod Lowery of Texarkana, Ben and April Lowery of Murfreesboro, Darrick and Carrie Lowery of Lonoke, Jake and Mitzi Lowery of Murfreesboro, Chelcey Lowery and Jon Best of Los Angeles, California; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Hendrix of Gold Beach, Oregon; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro with David Dillard officiating. Burial to follow in Pleasant Home in Murfreesboro under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.
