“I can’t be moved”
Recently I had the chance to move, a great opportunity to venture out further. I prayed and prayed and received no answer from God. Just waited and waited and still nothing.
I thought,” Lord where are you? I have a wonderful and prosperous opportunity here, I need to hear from you, so I know if I need to go or not.” This was not for ministry; it was just a great job opportunity. (That should have been my first clue. I happen to be a little stubborn.)
This move from Oklahoma to Arkansas was always about ministry and never about anything else. But it has become about many things, and made me grow, heal, and learn to say the least. So what do we do when he doesn’t answer? We simply wait, and have patience and trust in him. Because if he wants us to move, he will move us, harvest us in another place. It is all about trust and patience, two of the hardest things there are.
Proverbs 8:34 blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.
Obedience is another one of those things he wants us learn. Only move or stand still, when he says. Not when we think we should, or would have probably already left out after that opportunity.
1 Samuel 15:22 your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice,
and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.
But like I said it is about ministry not about the gain (the money). He is always teaching me something, showing me something. These few weeks I feel it has been obedience, patience, and trust. Because He always has your best interest at heart, to prosper you and fill you. Give you riches of the heart, and blessings in your world that are just right for you.
Numbers 6:24 The LORD will bless you and watch over you. … The LORD blesses you, and keeps you all the days of your life.
So as I waited for the answer, I waded in deeper, prayers got longer, and I listened closer for his voice to speak to my heart. I realize now that is what He wanted, this was a way to get closer to Him and He would find me being obedient, instead of just getting up and going when the going was good, and where meat was steak instead of hamburger. I had to learn He would feed me, no matter what, or where.
Genesis 30:31 but if thou wilt do what I demand, I will feed, and keep thy sheep again. …
If you will do this thing for me, I will again feed your flock and keep it
Yes, I eventually did get a word from the Lord, through someone who is a good friend. His word from the Lord was “Stay”. The Lord meant for me to stay where he planted me, and grow just where I am.
Colossians 2:7 Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you … having the roots of your being firmly planted in Him … increasingly confirmed in the faith as you were taught it.
Joel 2:22 Stop being afraid, beasts of the field, because the desert pastures will bloom,
the trees will bear their fruit, and the fig tree and vine will deliver.
Psalms 40:2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set
my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
Isaiah 33:20 peaceful place. It is a tent that can‘t be moved. Its tent pegs will never
be pulled out, and none of its ropes will be broken.
So it’s all part of the journey, learning to be obedient, and trusting him, and no longer is it about money, it’s about living for HIM.
Blooming where I am planted,
Heather
