Eleven Union Pacific train cars derailed around 2 a.m. Tuesday north of Nashville, resulting the initial closing of Aylett Road and Corinth Road, as tons of heavy equipment arrived on the scene. Howard County Judge Brent Pinkerton said the cars were carrying products to the Pilgrims Pride feed mill off Highway 369 and that many of the train cars leading to the derailment further up the track remained upright. Roddy Smith, coordinator of Howard County Office of Emergency Management, said rail service could be disrupted for up to three days and added that motorists should expect heavy equipment traffic on both Aylett and Corinth roads.
