Bruman “Jerry” Gerald Busby passed away on June 13, 2026, at home surrounded by friends and family at the age of 76. Jerry was born on June 9, 1950, in Laurall, Miss., to Bruman and Mildred M Busby.

Jerry grew up in Carnac, Texas, and later moved to Nashville. Jerry was employed at Husqvarna and worked as an maintenance electrician for 36 years until his retirement in 2015.

It was there that he met his wife Carolyn. They married Oct. 27, 1981, and have enjoyed 44 years together.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bruman and Mildred Hallett Busby, one brother Steven Busby of Independence, Kans.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Busby; a sister-in-law Betty Busby of Kansas, Suzie (Mark) Rathbun of Henry Ill., four children Jeremy (Stacey) Busby, Tyra (Gary) Hughes, both of Nashville, Michael Funderburke of Lockesburg, James and Marci Busby of Dallas.

Four grandkids, Todd (Kathryn) Hughes, Abbie (Tom) Hughes, all of Nashville Ark., Kristen Busby of Maumell Ark., and Brayden Funderburke of Conway Ark.

Five Great Grandkids Cooper and Kip Cogburn, Baylee Smith, Madilynn and Melany Hughes all of Nashville.

And one special chihuahua, his best friend Katie.

And three very special caregivers, Ambe, Holly and Tonya, and a wonderful host of Dierkson Hospice nurses.

Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and special friend to many. He had a heart of gold and loved the Lord. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Services will be held graveside at Liberty Baptist Church, on June 16, 2026.
