For the first time in school history, the Nashville Scrappers will play for a state soccer championship.
Nashville and De Queen will meet for the Class 4A title Saturday, May 23, at 4 p.m. at Hot Springs Lakeside.
The Scrappers advanced to the championship game with a 5-2 win over Dardanelle in the semifinals May 16 at Harrison.
De Queen defeated Green Forest 2-1 in the other semifinal.
The Scrappers never trailed in the first three rounds of state, defeating Batesville Southside and Star City May 14 and 15 before the semifinal win over Dardanelle.
De Queen entered state as the one seed from the South. The Scrappers were the two seed.
