The quest to get alcohol sales on the ballot for the second time is well underway.
According to the numbers provided by Pike County Clerk Randee Edwards, the group has to obtain a minimum of 2,387 valid petitions from registered Pike County Voters to place the referendum on the November ballot for voter consideration.
The referendum failed by six votes at the polls in 2022.
Lisa Harvill said the effort has officially begun dispersing petitions to volunteers across the county that will help in collections.
Anyone that is willing to help with petition efforts — regardless of amount — is asked to call (870) 557-1860.
For those that would like to sign a petition, can visit Harvill Insurance at 325 West Main Street, or the Gypsy Underground Flea Market located at 111 West 13th Street, both in Murfreesboro, where petitions are available.
The group plans an event in the near future and is looking to establish petition locations across the county.
