Shelba Thurman, 72, of Nashville died Jan. 26, 2025.
She was born Dec. 9, 1952, in Quitaque, Texas, the daughter of Joe Jean Ware and the late Curtis Ware.
She was an RN and had worked at Howard Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years before joining the Arkansas Department of Health.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joie Thurman.
Survivors include: her husband, Cross Thurman; children, Joey Thurman, Jada Thurman Green, Jenia Thurman, Jason Thurman; her mother, Joe Jean Ware; brothers Edward Wallace Ware and Ronnie Ware; sisters, Glorious Burns, Diann Ferguson, Melody Ware and April Ware.
Her funeral service was Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, at Maranatha Baptist Church in Nashville, followed by burial at Sunset Gardens Cemetery, Nashville.
