William “Bubba” Byers was born Nov. 5, 1955, in Nashville Ark., to Bill and Glinda Byers.

Even from a young age he had a love of sports and spent childhood years playing little league baseball where he formed lifelong friendships. He graduated from Nashville High School in 1973 and continued his college education at Quachita Baptist University where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree. He then moved back to Nashville to work alongside his father at Nashville Electric where in 1978 he welcomed his first daughter, Shea, and eventually took over the company after his father’s passing in 1982. Soon after, in 1983, his second daughter, Staci, was welcomed.

In 1993 he moved his family to Colorado where he worked various jobs, made new lifelong friendships and welcome his first four grandchildren. He then made the move to Texas and once again made new friendships. His fifth grandchild was born. and he started up a couple of Electrical Companies. He had a very strong work ethic, even tried to retire a few times but would get bored and start a new project. He loved his family. He took great joy in making the drive back to Colorado any chance he got we see his kids and grandkids. And eventually the great grandkids. He was finally forced to retire after becoming ill and moving back to Colorado so he was close to family and would have that support system. Being a fighter was something he was known for and will be missed by many. He lost his battles on Jan. 15, 2025, in Grand Junction, Colo., with family by his side. He was preceded on death by both of his parents, Bill and Glinda Byers.

He is survived by his daughters, Shea (Justin) Pankey of Craig, Staci Byers (Jordan) of Craig, grandchildren Dakota Ahlstrom (Justin) of Craig, Kaitlyn (Chris) Hill of Craig, Sean Byers (Karli) of Grand Junction, Colo., McKenzie Fritts (Rieley) of Grand Junction, Colo., Isaac Fritts of Craig, Adyson Pankey of Craig, great grandchildren Kysen Rasmussen and Raelynn Hill both of Craig; and his sister, Mary Jane (Jerry) Jones of Nashville, Ark.
