Junior Lee Hendrix, Sr., went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Tuesday, March 26, 2024. He passed peacefully at home with his wife and family by his side.   

Junior (Sonny) was born March 18, 1947, in Mineral Springs, Ark., to Otis Logan Hendrix and Rosie Lee (Smith) Hendrix. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Betty Ogden, Artie Lee Graves, and Ellawese Long, and a great-granddaughter Khlani Jefferson. 

He accepted Christ and the call of Deaconship at Northside Church of God in Christ, where he remained a faithful member over 30 years. Deacon Hendrix loved his church and served as Trustee Board Member, Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of Deacon Board and Groundkeeper of the Church for many years. 

He was known to the community as “Mr. Mechanic” who blessed many in his community with his special calling and knowledge of auto repairs.

He is survived by: his beloved wife, Mrs. Evelyn Hendrix, Mineral Springs; daughter Dr. Michelle Burgess (James) Suffolk, Va.; son Robert Hendrix, Magnolia, Ark; Junior Hendrix II, Little Rock, Ark; daughter, Latricia Hendrix, Mineral Springs, Ark.; one brother, Johnny Miller Hendrix, Mineral Springs, Ark; two sisters, Hazel Whitmore, Nashville, Ark., and Queen Layette and one brother-in-law, Toledo, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, cherished family members and friends.   

Funeral Services will be held April 6, 2024, Northside Church of God in Christ, Mineral Springs, Ark. Viewing is between 10–10:45 a.m.; services to start at 11 a.m.
