Ruby Faye Dowdy Henderson, age 70 of Saratoga, Ark., formerly of Mineral Springs, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born on Oct. 5, 1953, to the late Banks Alford Dowdy and Veda Erma Bryant Dowdy.

Ruby was a member of the Temperenceville Baptist Church near Nashville. She loved the Lord and wanted to share Him with those around her. Throughout the years, Ruby and her husband, Ed, touched many lives through the Howard County Youth Encampment. She was a homemaker and, throughout the years, raised many children in addition to her own. She was a devoted wife, mother and Mammie. She loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

She enjoyed her flowers, coffee, birdwatching, and shoes. In recent years, she discovered a newfound love of shopping on Amazon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Edward Dale Henderson; four brothers, Banks, R.A., Bill and John; and two sisters Edna Marie Little and Louise Lott.

Survivors include: her four children, Amanda Harper and husband Tim of Coweta, Okla., Amber Raulerson and husband David of Saratoga, Alesha Taylor and husband Austin of Alexander, Adam Henderson and wife Amber of Nashville; two brothers: James Dowdy and wife Connie of Caddo Gap, and Tom Dowdy and wife Lynn of Athens; nine grandchildren: Rebekah Lovelis and husband Austin, Taylor Harper, Luke Raulerson, Alex Harper, Bailey Taylor, Brady Taylor, Silas Raulerson, Rhett Henderson and Tate Henderson; one great-grandson Owen Lovelis; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 28, at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, in the Latimer Funeral Chapel in Nashville, with Bro. David Raulerson and Bro. Tim Harper officiating. Interment will follow in Mineral Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
