Mr. Michael Dean Hill, age 70, a resident of Dierks, Ark., died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, in Dierks Health and Rehab.

He was born May 28, 1953 in Dierks. He was a logging contractor, owner of Michael Hill Logging and a self-taught master mechanic. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dierks where he served in different capacities: deacon, worship leader, and taught Sunday school classes. He enjoyed logging, hunting, fishing and working on his farm. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports.

Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents, Dillard Dean and Ila Lavelle Artre Hill, and one sister, Sandra D. Hill Simmons.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Madonna Arnold Hill; one son and daughter-in-law, Damon and Lisa Hill of Fayetteville, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, April and Brian Mashburn of Little Rock, Ark.; his grandchildren, Taylor Hill, Bailey Mashburn, Rylee Hill, Andrew Mashburn, Brock Mashburn and Corbin Hill; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Gary Bobo, Cathy and Bruce Francis and Jeanne and Glenn Davis; a number of nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services for Michael Dean Hill will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Dierks with Don Jones and John McAnally officiating. Burial will follow in Sunshine Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m., Tuesday, 1 hour before the service.

Steve White

Steve White, 77, of Newhope died Jan. 7, 2024.

He was born Dec. 20, 1946.

Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Joyce White; a son Jay Butcher and wife, Scarlett; a daughter, Tina Hill; a sister, Vickie Garner; also grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. in the home of Joyce White in Newhope. There will be a potluck.
