
The Nashville Scrappers and Scrapperettes won the District 7-4A golf championship last week at the Nashville Country Club.
The Scrapperettes won their title Sept. 19, with the Scrappers winning Sept. 20.
Both teams qualified for the Class 4A state tournament. The Scrapperettes played Tuesday, Sept. 26. Results were not available by the News-Leader’s press deadline Tuesday afternoon.
The Scrappers will play next week.
Coach Aaron Worthen said the Scrapperettes “posted a great number” at district.
Parker Tate was the 7-4A medalist with her +8 (79).
Nancy Worthington was second overall with a +11 (82).
Macy McCammack finished third.
Rayleigh Harmon was fourth.
Tate, Worthington, McCammack and Harmon were all named All-Conference.
“That’s a 1, 2, 3, 4 finish for Scrapperette golf,” Worthen said.
On the boys side, the team score posted by the Scrappers “is the best 18-hole score by any of my teams since I took the golf job,” Worthen said.
Jett Stephenson was district medalist with an E (71). He was named All-Conference for the fourth year in a row.
Manning Goff was fifth overall with a +8 (79). He was also an All-Conference selection.
Slade Slayton was sixth with a +9 (80).
Zeus Hutchinson tied for seventh with a +10 (81).
Worthington thanked those who helped plan and conduct the district tournament.
He extended his appreciation to the Nashville Country Club board, members and staff for being the team’s home course and for helping with the tournament.
He also thanked the parents and volunteers who helped throughout the event.
