Alton Henry (Al) Terrell, 82, of Murfreesboro passed away on Feb. 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by family. He was born Aug. 19, 1940, in Murfreesboro, Ark., the son of the late Alton Reagan Terrell and Alice Pauline Mauney Terrell.

He was a graduate of Murfreesboro High School and Ouachita Baptist University. He married Jane Ellen Pouzar Terrell on July 12, 1964, in Little Rock. He was an accomplished entrepreneur and farmer in the South Pike County area. He loved farming and the lifestyle that went with it. He was a minister at Sweet Home United Methodist Church and Biggs Chapel for over 44 years. His family and these church families were the true passion of his life.

Alton Henry (Al) Terrell was preceded in death by his father, Alton Reagan Terrell, and mother, Alice Pauline Terrell.

Survivors include: his wife of 58 years, Jane Terrell; three sons, John and wife Christy Terrell of Murfreesboro, Chris and wife Karen Terrell of Murfreesboro, and James and wife Anne Terrell of Murfreesboro; one sister, Rosemary and husband Randy Mounts of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Clay Terrell, Cassidy Terrell, Reagan Terrell, Caleb Terrell, and Ramsey Terrell; two great-grandchildren, Tripp Terrell and Gracie Faye Terrell. As well as his loyal friend, his dog Bella. 

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m., until 2:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19, at the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 19, at First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, with Jim Henderson and Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Murfreesboro Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.

Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, Biggs Chapel, or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend our special thanks to Elite Home Health and Elite Hospice.
