Police Chief Randy Lamb (at left) announced this week that Matthew Wilson, a native of Tennessee married to the former Hannah Holden of Murfreesboro, has been hired as a full-time officer with the Murfreesboro Police Department. Wilson, 24, has no prior law enforcement experience and Lamb said the city will send him to the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in late April. Wilson will eventually replace Officer Micah Brown, who will remain a full-time officer this month before switching to part-time status next month with plans to join the Arkansas State Police.
