For the first time ever, the 2023 Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce Banquet will feature “A Taste of Murfreesboro” at their March 2 banquet.

As a way of getting all local restaurants involved, the chamber has invited four — Feed Bin, Telinga’s Mexican Restaurant, The Crusted Loaf and Southern Dine — to prepare one of their signature dishes, as opposed to a single vendor serving a complete meal.

The banquet will utilize “moving forward together … a plan for Murfreesboro” as their theme. The event will be held at the CADC Senior Adult Center with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. for silent auction bidding with the meal starting at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25 each and table purchases (six seats) at a discounted rate are also available.

The banquet speaker will be Clint O’Neal, who was recently named the executive director for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. Murfreesboro Mayor Jim O’Neal has said that his nephew is excited to speak at the event due to his “family roots” in the area.

O’Neal has over 15 years of economic development experience and is very passionate about making a difference by helping communities win economic development projects and helping companies to be successful in Arkansas.

The chamber has arranged for a pair of the Esperanza Diamond replicas that were a part of a limited edition to be a part of the event — one will be given out as a door prize, the other will be sold in the silent auction.

The banquet will also include an increased number of awards, including the “person of the year” award, with the winner being selected from submissions from the community. Other awards will include business of the year, teacher of the year (high school/elementary), event of the year, and a newly created “chamber award” that will allow the chamber to deservedly recognize a person, businesses or event each year.

For more information or for tickets call the Chamber of Commerce at (870) 285-3131, stop by Harvill Insurance in Murfreesboro or see any of the participating chamber board members, including Jean Floyd, Diane Caroll, Jane Fugitt or Jimi Scarlett.
