Betty Lou Hanney, age 88, of Nashville, Ark., died on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, in Searcy, Ark. She was born on July 12, 1934, in Nashville to the late Leonard Claude Worley and Maudie Mae Kemp Worley.
Betty loved to quilt, crochet and collect salt and pepper shakers. She was happiest when she was cooking meals for her closest friends and family at either her home or deer camp.
She was a Christian who never shied away from telling others about where she would spend eternity.
She was preceded in death by her husband, HC Hanney; her siblings, Cherrie Mae, Sara Louise, John Henry, William Lee and Claude Jr.; two sons, James and Freddie Hanney; and a grandson, Wayne Hanney.
Survivors include: two daughters-in-law, Debbie and Teresa Hanney; five grandchildren, Greg Hanney and wife Angela, Michael Hanney and wife Christie, Michael Lynn Cox and wife Kaleena, Rachael Clairday and husband Mark, and Tasha Moore and husband James. She is also survived by her 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters, and host of nieces, nephews and great friends.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville, Ark.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 30 in the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Nashville. Interment will follow in Avery’s Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
