Fred Parker, Jr., 88, of Nashville, died Sept. 19, 2017.

He was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Turkey, Texas, to the late Fred Parker, Sr. and Patra Seymour Parker.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a prisoner of war for 13 months. He was a cattle and chicken farmer after retiring from IBM.

He was preceded in death by a son, Chris Parker; three brothers, Houston, Wayne and Donnie Parker.

Survivors include: his wife Della Jean Parker; three sisters, Lavonne Reed  and Joyce Sharp, both of Dierks, and Carolyn Jones of Murfreesboro; two children, Rick Parker and wife, Lori, and Mike Parker and wife Paula; also grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services were Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 at 2 p.m.at Nashville Funeral Home with Michael Collins and Red Collins officiating. Interment followed in County Line Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home before the service.
