Ruth Juantez Calley, 85 of Murfreesboro, Ark., passed away on Aug. 2, 2017 in Prescott, Ark. She was born on May 4, 1932 in Prescott, Ark., the daughter of the late Barney Herbert and Naomi Brown Harris.
Mrs. Calley was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Ark. She served as secretary for the Murfreesboro Chamber of Commerce, she was a member of the Pike County Home Extension Club, a board member of the Southwest Arkansas Mental Health, and an Avon Representative.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clifton Calley; a sister, Billie Fern McCain; and a grandson, Casey Daniel Calley.
Survivors include: three daughters, Ruth Ann Calley of Texarkana, Ark.; Sherry Ray and husband, Budd,y of New Boston, Texas; Laura Fletcher and husband Keith of Tulsa, Okla.; one son, Richard Calley and wife Dawn of Kirby, Ark.; three sisters, Bonnie Smith of Prescott, Ark.; Jane Presley of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; Brenda Schimming of Madison, Ala.; 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Thursday, Aug. 3 from 6-8 p.m., at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Murfreesboro.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4, at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Murfreesboro, with Buddy Ray officiating. Burial followed in Delight Cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
