Donald Ray Younger, 81, of Mabelvale, Ark., passed away on April 17, 2017.
He was born on Oct. 21, 1935, in West, Texas, to the late Robert Lee ‘Cole’ and Alliene Pearl Sanders Younger. Donald was a retired railroad engineer, having worked for the Rock Island Railroad in Arkansas and the Union Pacific RR in Pueblo, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Royce Lee ‘Bill’ Younger; a daughter, Gail Hogue; and an infant great-grandson, Karl Jewell.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 60 years, Jessie Fisher Younger; four sons, Don, Jr., of Nashville, Douglas of Little Rock, Scott of Mabelvale, Phillip and wife Jeffrie Ann of Palm Bay, Fla.; a brother, Robert Kelly ‘Jack’ Younger of Missouri; seven grandchildren, Terry Whitmire, Susan Head, James Whitmire, Amy Jewell, James Robert, Colton Younger and Zachary Younger; and nine great-grandchildren, along with three step great-grandchildren.
