Laquita Wright, age 80, of Glenwood, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016.
She was born on November 8, 1935 at Bonnerdale, the daughter of Victor Cooper and Gladys Lash Cooper. On July 23, 1954, she was married to Joe Floyd Wright.
Laquita was a member of the Glenwood First Baptist Church where she was very active. Through the years you would find her singing in the choir, playing piano, teaching classes and decorating the sanctuary with beautiful oral arrangements. She enjoyed so many things, flower designing, traveling, water skiing, riding horses, playing bridge, quilting, sewing and the list could go on. She loved being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Floyd Wright of Glenwood; four children and their spouses, Dr. Denny and Billie Sue Wright of Hot Springs Village, Jill and Steve Smith of Bonnerdale, Casey and Kim Wright, and Brett and Lisa Wright, all of Glenwood; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Josh and Meredith Wright, Leah and Jordan Lillich, Adam and Sydne Smith, Amy and Bo Southall, Lindsey and Alex Ray, Kiley and C. J. Engel, Kris and Eran Jennings, Brooke Wright and Jared Wright; seven great- grandchildren; and her brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Pat Cooper of Simpsonville, South Carolina and their children, Kirsten, Mark and Alex.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 7, 2016, in the Glenwood First Baptist Church with Bro. Erby Burgess and Dr. Bruce Swihart officiating.
Interment was in Mount Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Adult 4 Sunday School Class and the employees of Wrights Food Center.
