School election September 20, early voting under way

Early voting began this Tuesday and will run through next Monday for local school board elections. Mount Ida voters will decide one contested race Tuesday, September 20.
Early voting in Montgomery County can be done at the Montgomery County Clerk’s Office during regular office hours from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Early voting ends September 19. Absentee and early voting for Ouachita County School District will be conducted at the Polk County Clerk’s Office in Mena from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. through Monday, September 19.
Ouachita County School District and Caddo Hills School District do not have any contested board positions, and they are not proposing any changes to the current millage rate. In accordance with the requirements of Ark. Code Ann §6-14-106 They will not hold elections September 20. All voting will be done by way of absentee voting and early voting.
There will be one contested race for Mount Ida School District Board of Directors with Matt Rae challenging incumbent Phillip Carr.
Voting for the Mount Ida contested position will be held Tuesday, September 20 with polls open from 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Polling  sites will be located at Lake Ouachita Baptist Church, Montgomery County Annex and Washita Fire Station.
