NASHVILLE – On March 20, Howard County Deputy Dustin Wakefield stopped a vehicle on Collins Road in the Sand Hill area at around 4:30 p.m. March 20, for a traffic violation. The vehicle was driven by Jerry “Tex” Brown. Brown, 62, emptied his pockets before Wakefield’s search of the vehicle in front of Deputy Wakefield and showed him that had a metal pill container in one of his pockets. Brown told Wakefield there were drugs in the container. Wakefield arrested Brown and continued his search. Inside the container were seven, small plastic bags containing suspected methamphetamine. Each bag had a number hand written on them to indicate amounts in each bag. Brown, of Nashville, was arrested and transported to jail for Possession of Controlled Substance; methamphetamine, with purpose to deliver. Brown’s vehicle was seized and is being held at the Sheriff’s Office impound lot.
