The Rattlers traveled to Mineral Springs to take on the Hornets for a District match-up on Friday night.
The Lady Rattlers would start the night off with a loss. In the first quarter the Lady Rattlers would hold a 13-12 lead over the Lady Hornets. By halftime the Lady Rattlers would still hold a slim lead 22-20. In what was a great three quarters of basketball, the Lady Rattlers held the lead 31-29, heading into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, it was all the Lady Hornets as they would take the victory 49-35.
Jynsen Smith was the leading scorer of the night with 15 points, adding six rebounds and two steals. Loran Wilcher scored 7 points and four rebounds. Arianna Leeper added 6 points, three rebounds, and three steals. Jayce Saldana had 5 points and seven rebounds. Lexie Baxter scored two points, five rebounds and one steal.
The Murfreesboro Rattlers would suffer a District loss to the Hornets. In the first quarter, the Hornets would come out on fire leading 24-8. The Rattlers would try to battle back but, would still fall short losing 41-23 at the half. In the third quarter, the Hornets would continue to extend their lead 60-33. In the fourth quarter, the Hornets would seal their victory with a final score of 69-37.
Mason Alexander was the leading scorer with 13 points and four rebounds. Zack Eckert added 8 points, three rebounds and one steal. Jamonte Green had 6 points and four rebounds. J. C. Motley scored 4 points. Tyler Gilbert was the leading rebounder with seven and had 2 points.
The Rattlers will host the Dierks Outlaws on February 2. Then will travel to Foreman to play the Gators on February 4.
