Junior Indians, Lady Indians win Blevins Invitiational

Caddo Hills junior tournament winners
BLEVINS – The Caddo Hills Junior Indians and Junior Lady Indians brought home trophies last week after the each won their respective brackets in the Blevins Junior Invitational Tournament.
The Junior Lady Indians defeated Genoa Central and Lafayette County before defeating Kirby in the finals for the girls’ title.
They defeated Genoa 46-21 after opening the game with a 15-0 run. They held a 28-5 lead at the half and held on in the second half to win by 25.
Tracey Bershers was the leading scorer with nine, followed by Lilli Hunt and Abby West with eight each. Taylor Allen scored six and Wraylin Phillips and Gracie Davis each scored four. Delaney Jackson and Capri Fogle each scored three and Liz Ruiz scored one.
Caddo topped Lafayette County 47-23. They jumped out to a 39-5 halftime lead and never looked back, winning the game by 24.
Abby West and Taylor Allen led Caddo Hills with 12 points each, followed by Tracey Bershers with five. Wraylin Phillips, Liz Ruiz, Gracie Davis and Nalley Lopez each scored four. Delaney Jackson scored one.
The Junior Lady Indians claimed the tournament title with a 35-25 victory over Kirby. 16-14 halftime lead and went on to win by 10.
Abby West led the Junior Lady Indians with 11 points, followed by Taylor Allen with seven. Lilli Hunt, Wraylin Phillips and Tracey Bershers each scored five and Delaney Jackson scored two.
The Junior Indians earned victories over Genoa Central and Lafayette County as well before defeating Foreman 49-33 to win the tournament.
Caddo jumped out to a 39-13 lead in the first half against Genoa and went on to defeat the Junior Dragons 46-25.
Cameron Gaither led the Junior Indians with 19, followed by Ryan Franks and Simon Whisenhunt with 10 each. Connor Kincannon scored six and Tate Dumont scored five. Colton Cowart and Gage Galloway scored three each.
The Junior Indians earned a hard fought 53-48 victory over Lafayette County.
They held a 27-20 lead at the half and held on to win by five.
Ryan Franks led the Junior Indians with 17 points, followed by Gage Galloway with 14 and Cameron Gaither with 11. Simon Whisenhunt scored five and Colton Cowart and Connor Kincannon each scored three.
In the finals Caddo eased out to an 11-8 lead in the first period and stretched their lead to 26-17 by the half. They outscored the Junior Gators 24-13 in the second half to win the game 49-33.
Cameron Gaither was the only Junior Indian in double digits with 18. He hit five 3’s in the win.
Ryan Franks scored nine, Gage Galloway scored six and Connor Kincannon scored five. Simon Whisenhunt scored four and Drew Cureton and Matt Turner each scored three. Tate Dumont scored two.
