The town that became the Confederate State Capitol during the Civil War, now known as Historic Washington State Park, will be hosting Southwest Arkansas’ Annual Civil War Weekend on November 7 and 8.
During Civil War Weekend, visitors will walk the streets of a town touched by the hand of war. Reenactors from across the region will present living history demonstrations. There will be special programming throughout the day including Civil War Medicine, Infantry, Cavalry, Artillery, and Civilian Camps, Sutler’s Row, Tavern Life,  Civil War Skirmish, Townball, and Civil War Church Service. Tours and programs will be presented at many of the historic homes. The BW Edwards Weapons Museum and the Print Museum will be open for tours each day. Surrey rides will be available as well. Get the whole family involved in a hands-on experience this weekend offers a fun and educational experience for all ages.
