Eddie Earl Steen, 77 of Murfreesboro, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2015 at his home. He was born on September 16, 1938 in Murfreesboro the son of the late Edward Steen and Esther and B.J. Steen. Mr. Steen was baptized at a young age and was of the Christian faith. He was a retired volunteer fireman, a carpenter, and served in the United States Army. Eddie was an avid hunter and sportsman and truly enjoyed the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Bobby Steen.
He was married fifty two years ago on October 25, 1963, to his surviving wife Marlene Crossland Steen of Murfreesboro; other survivors include his step-mother Joyce Steen of Little Rock; sisters Gay Bray (Don) of Dierks; Linda McCombs of Pellham, Alabama; Mary Ann VanHouton of Paron; brothers Ray Steen (Brenda) of Murfreesboro; John Steen (Paula) of Paron; a number of nieces, and nephews; a special brother in law Danny Crossland (Jude) of Dixon, Missouri. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Murfreesboro. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with Rob Evans officiating, with burial to follow in Murfreesboro Cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home in Murfreesboro.
