Virginia Lee Littlefield Taylor, age 90, a resident of Nashville, Arkansas, died Friday, September 18, 2015 in Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville.
She was born May 24, 1925 in Dierks, Arkansas. She graduated from Dierks High School in 1943 and received her Bachelor degree in 1956 from the University of Arkansas; she finished college in 1961 with a Master’s of Science in Home Economics. She taught Home Economics in Decatur, Arkansas for two years and Dierks High School for thirty years. She was a member of the Holly Creek Baptist Church in Dierks and was an honorary member of the Howard County Teacher’s Association.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, John W. and Mattie P. Crisp Littlefield. She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Freddie E. Taylor of Danville; one sister, Johnice Blackwell of Nashville; two nephews, John and Kathy Blackwell of Springdale, and James and Candy Blackwell of Nashville; one niece, Mary Ann and Steve Frankenberger of Fayetteville; several great nieces, nephews and special friends, Mike and Teresa Moore. Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday September 21, 2015 in the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks with Dr. David Blase and Bro. Clyde Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Dierks Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday September 21, 2015 at the church. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
