Montgomery County agencies to conduct active school shooter exercise

    The Montgomery County Department of Emergency Management, The Mount Ida School District and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will conduct an active shoorter training exercise on the Mount Ida school campuses Mon., Aug. 10.
    Training will be held at the elementary campus from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and the high school campus from 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
    There will not be any students involved in the exercise, but residents may notice an increase in activity in these areas during the exercise. Some streets may also be closed temporarily near both campuses as law enforcement officers, emergency responders and school district employees participate in the active shooter exercise.
