Members Mount Ida – South Fork Volunteer Fire Department and the Joplin Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential fire Friday, August 14 at approximately 8 a.m. at 48 Shambley Lane approximately 8 miles east of Mount Ida. The residence owned was by Ben Janazec. Eyewitness accounts stated that the fire appeared to have started on the deck and spread into the structure. No one was home at the time of the fire.
