Charges filed after toxicology reveals multiple drugs

MURFREESBORO—A 72-year-old Amity woman was formally charged with negligent homicide August 7 in Pike County Circuit Court.
Cherryl A. Grant was charged with the class B felony after toxicology reports showed her blood tested positive for opiates, methamphetamines, hydrocodone, lidocaine, ondanestrone, trazadone and fentanyl.
Toxicology was performed on Grant after an accident that occurred June 12 in which she was traveling west on Highway 70. Grant’s vehicle traveled across both lanes and struck another vehicle causing the driver to be fatally wounded.
