4 arrests, more expected for Pike County break-ins, thefts

As expected following an announcement this week by the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, felony charges of residential burglary and theft of property were filed Wednesday, Aug. 19 in Pike County Circuit Court against three Murfreesboro men and a Hot Springs man.

They include:

– Jonathan Brian Kinnu, 28, of Murfreesboro, charged with two counts of residential burglary and two counts of theft of property. His bond has been set at $100,000 and he will make his first court appearance Aug. 24.

– Brian Keith Smith, 23, of Murfreesboro, charged with residential burglary and theft of property. His bond was set at $100,000 and he will make his first court appearance Aug. 24.

– Andrew Carl Pipkins, 26, of Murfreesboro, charged with residential burglary, theft of property and criminal mischief. His bond has been set at $100,000 and he will make his first court appearance Aug. 24.

– Daniel S. Irvin, 35, of Hot Springs (formerly of Murfreesboro), charged with residential burglary and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. His bond was set at $15,000 and he will make his first court appearance Aug. 24.

Kinnu has been charged with break-ins and thefts from the homes of Betty J. Woodley and Connie and Doug Brown.

Smith has been charged connection to the theft and break-ins from the Browns.

Pipkins has been charged with a break-in and theft from #5 Caddis Road in Murfreesboro (court documents do not indicate to whom the home belongs).

Irvin has been charged with a break-in at the home of the late Nicky Stewart, which is legally owned by Donna Chaffee.

More arrests and charges will be forthcoming in relations to the recent rash of burglaries, according to the PCSD.

Other charges filed

Also on Aug. 19, charges were filed against Bruce J. Smith, 53, of Murfreesboro. He is charged with possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and marijuana. His bond was set at $15,000 and he will be formally arraigned on the charges Aug. 24.

A felony drug charge was also filed Aug. 19 against Greg Wayne Myrick, 51, of Murfreesboro. He is charged with possession of methamphetamine. He is currently being held without bond and will be formally arraigned Aug. 24

Felony charges of aggravated assault and criminal mischief were filed Aug. 19 against Sarah J. Humphry, 31, of Murfreesboro. Her bond was set at $50,000 and she will make her first court appearance Aug. 24.
