Rickie Murl Gatlin, 67 of Mineral Springs, passed away peacefully, on Friday, July 10, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at St. Michaels Hospice. He was born July 19, 1947 to Murl and Gladys Gatlin in Green Forest, Arkansas. Rick graduated in 1965 from Excelsior Springs High School. Rick served our country in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam War. He was very active in the AA Group for over 17 years. He retired after 30 plus years from Tyson Foods. Rick was able to enjoy fishing with his son and restoring old cars. Rick was a loving Father and Brother. Preceding him in death was his parents, Gladys and Murl Gatlin and one brother, Eric Gatlin. Surviving family members include; his son, Rickie Mason Gatlin of Ozan; three brothers, Roger Gatlin of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Bruce Gatlin of Weatherford, Texas, Dexter Gatlin of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; two sisters, Brenda Bridges of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Frances Gatlin of Warsaw, Missouri.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Nashville Funeral Home with Chaplin Cleveland Piggee officiating.
