Norman couple arrested on possession charges

    NORMAN – A probation search of a residence ended in a Norman couple’s arrests on possession charges.
    According to reports obtained from the Montgomery County Clerk’s Office Probation and Parole Officer Frank Gibson performed a probation search at the residence occupied by Andy and Charity Cogburn in Norman. The report stated that both residents are currently on probation for prior convictions.
    Gibson was assisted by 18th West Drug Task Force Officer Mike May and members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. During the search Montgomery County Sheriff David White located a small cellophane bag in Andy Cogburn’s back pocket. The allegedly contained four Alprazolam pills.
    According to reports Officers also located a small plastic baggy hidden in a blue lantern hanging in the master bedroom in the residence. The baggy allegedly contained a white powder residue.
    Reports also state that Gibson also located a plastic baggy hidden behind a ceiling tile in a kitchen cabinet which allegedly contained .4 grams of methamphetamine.
    Andy Cogburn, age 46, was arraigned Tues., July 7 on one count each of Possession of schedule II controlled substance, methamphetamine (a class D felony), Possession of drug paraphernalia (a class B felony), Possession of schedule IV controlled substance (a class A misdeameanor).
    Pretrial was set for August 4 and jury trial was set for September 11.
    Charity Cogburn, age 40, was arraigned on one count each of Possession of schedule II controlled substance, methamphetamine (a class D felony), Possession of drug paraphernalia (a class B felony).
