001Glyna Ruth Lillard, age 70 of Mineral Springs, went to her eternal home on Thursday, July 30, 2015 in Texarkana. She was born November 14, 1944 in Mo ark, Arkansas to the late Wilburn and Meldie Davis Willis. Ruth as everyone knew her was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Family was very important to her. If you went to her house during any holiday it was evident by the way she decorated her home for her kids, especially at Christmas. She had earned the skill of decorating by receiving an Interior Design Certificate that she worked very hard for. She was very active in PTA during her children’s school years, volunteering for several activities in school and in her community. She had chaired the Bi-centennial committee for Mineral Springs back in the seventies, coached the Citizenship Bee for 4-H, as well as numerous other activities too numerous to name. Ruth also loved looking at old pictures, and visiting historical places looking at old buildings. She had a collection of cook books that would fill a room. She also loved doing crossword puzzles. She was all about her family. She was a faithful member of the Mineral Springs Church of Christ. Preceding her in death was her parents; and one sister; Imogene White. She leaves behind, her best friend and the love of her life her husband, James S. Lillard of Mineral Springs; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Dean and wife, Penny Lillard of Ashdown and Justin and wife, Stephanie Lillard of Searcy; three brothers, Kenny and wife, Emley Willis of Corning, Glen Willis of Corning and Bud and wife, Linda Willis of Farmington, Missouri; one sister, Margaret Carter of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kelsey, Jackson, Josiah, and Sadie Lillard; and a large host of other family and friends.
Services will be Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 2:30 pm at the Mineral Springs Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Mineral Springs Cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Nashville Funeral Home on Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. You may send the family an online sympathy message to www.nashvillefh.com. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Southern Christian Children’s Home, Po Box 649 Morrilton, Arkansas 72110 or to the Mineral Springs Church of Christ.
