Dear Editor,
STEM education is alive and well in Nashville Public Schools.
Thirteen eighth and ninth graders from NJHS traveled to Tampa, Florida last week for field studies in wetlands ecosystems. They swam with manatees, snorkeled above a riverbed of fossils, kayaked among mangrove trees and dissected sharks.
We would like to thank the community for supporting their fundraising efforts. We would especially like to thank Mrs. Tackett and Mr. Graham for providing transportation and funding for a second chaperone in order for our students to enjoy a safe, successful trip.
Our group was one of the very few on the field trip with any school support. These were indeed great days to be Scrappers!
Thank you, Nashville.
