Sylvester Chambers, age 78, of Umpire, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
He was born on January 13, 1937, at Umpire, the son of Otis Chambers and Orphia Kersey Chambers.
He is survived by three children, Connie Patterson, of DeQueen, Diane Baker, of Vandervoort and Melvin Chambers of DeQueen; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Chambers, of Umpire; three sisters, Twyla James of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jackie Linville of Umpire and Geneva Chambers of Dierks.
Memorial services was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 19, 2015, in the Athens Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Kitchens and Bro. John Henry Williams officiating.
Private interment was held in the Athens Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
